As we follow Bakha through his daily struggles as an untouchable, we are confronted with the harsh reality of caste discrimination in India. The way in which Bakha is treated solely based on his caste challenges us to question the foundation of our own prejudices. Through Bakha’s interactions with people from different castes, we see how deeply rooted these beliefs are in society.
