Seeking validation from others is a common behavior that many of us engage in without even realizing it. We look to others to confirm our worth, to affirm our choices, and to validate our existence. We seek approval, praise, and recognition as if our value depends on the opinions of those around us. But the truth is, seeking validation from others is a futile pursuit that will only leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled. When we seek validation from others, we give away our power. We allow someone else to dictate how we feel about ourselves, to determine our self-worth. We become dependent on the opinions of others, constantly seeking approval and validation to feel good about ourselves. But this external validation is fleeting and unreliable.
