In our culture, vulnerability is often seen as a weakness, something to be hidden or overcome. We are encouraged to put on a brave face, to toughen up, to be strong no matter what. But what if vulnerability is not a flaw to be fixed, but a strength to be embraced?When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we are opening ourselves up to the full range of human experiences - the joy, the pain, the love, the heartache. We are admitting that we are not invincible, that we are not in control of everything. And in that admission, we find a kind of freedom. We find that it is okay to not have all the answers, to not always be perfect. We find that it is okay to ask for help, to lean on others when we need to. When we are vulnerable, we are showing our true selves to the world. We are being authentic, honest, and open. And in that authenticity, we find connection.
