Family dynamics explored from "summary" of To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

The Song girls are like our own little ecosystem. Each of us has a role to play, and when one part of the system is out of balance, everything gets thrown off. Margot plays the part of the responsible older sister, always looking out for us and making sure we're okay. I'm the middle sister - not as together as Margot, but not as reckless as Kitty either. And then there's Kitty, the baby of the family, who is always up to something mischievous. Margot leaving for college was like a bomb going off in our household. Suddenly, I had to step up and take on some of her responsibilities, like driving Kitty to school and making sure dinner was on the table at a reasonable hour. It was a big adjustment for all of us, and it made me realize just how much we relied on Margot to hold everything together. But Margot wasn't the only one who left a void in our family. Our mom passed away when we were young, and her absence still hangs over us like a cloud. Our dad does his best to take care of us, but there are some things only a mother can provide. Sometimes I wonder what our family would be like if she were still here. Despite all the changes and challenges we've faced, our family remains strong. We may not always see eye to eye, but at the end of the day, we know we can count on each other. Our bond is what keeps us together, even when everything else seems to be falling apart. And through it all, we continue to navigate the complexities of our family dynamics, learning and growing together as we go.
