Loss and grief are constantly lurking in the shadows, waiting to pounce on Teacher-Librarians (TLs) when they least expect it. The nature of their work exposes them to a myriad of losses - from losing beloved books to losing beloved students. These losses can be tangible, like when a library collection is damaged in a flood, or intangible, like when a student moves away and leaves a void in the TL's heart. The grief that accompanies these losses is no less real. It can manifest as a sense of emptiness, a feeling of powerlessness, or a relentless ache that refuses to go away. TLs are expected to be strong and resilient in the face of adversity, but sometimes the weight of their grief can be overwhelming.
