This toxic masculinity teaches men to suppress their emotions, to always appear strong and dominant, and to view women as objects to be conquered. It is a rigid and confining construct that limits men's ability to experience a full range of emotions and to form healthy relationships with themselves and others. Toxic masculinity perpetuates a culture of violence and domination, where men are expected to prove their worth through aggression and control. This not only harms women and other marginalized groups, but it also harms men themselves. By adhering to the narrow definition of masculinity, men are denied the opportunity to express vulnerability, to seek help when needed, and to connect with others on a deeper level.
