Boy's sister begins acting strangely from "summary" of The Werewolf of Fever Swamp by R. L. Stine

The first sign of trouble was when Grady's sister, Emily, started staying out late at night. She used to be the responsible one, always home on time for dinner. But now, she would come back after dark, sneaking in through the window, looking pale and exhausted. At first, Grady thought she was just going through a rebellious phase. But then, things started to get weirder. Emily would spend hours locked in her room, whispering to herself in a language that Grady didn't recognize. When he asked her about it, she would just brush him off, saying she was practicing for a school play. But Grady knew something wasn't right. Emily's behavior was becoming increasingly erratic. She would disappear for hours at a time, only to return covered in dirt and scratches. She refused to tell Grady where she had been or what she had been doing. As the days passed, Grady began to notice other changes in Emily. Her eyes seemed to glint in the moonlight, and her teeth looked sharper than before. She would growl at their parents when they asked her simple questions, and her nails had grown long and jagged. Grady was starting to get scared. He didn't know what was happening to his sister, but he knew it wasn't normal. And when he heard the howls coming from the swamp at night, he couldn't shake the feeling that somehow, Emily was connected to it all.
