Embracing the cycles of nature from "summary" of The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff

As we observe the natural world around us, we can see that everything operates in cycles. The seasons change from spring to summer to fall to winter in a constant rhythm, and the sun rises and sets each day without fail. Nature does not resist these cycles but instead embraces them fully. Trees do not try to resist the changing of the seasons; they simply let go of their leaves when the time comes and trust that new ones will grow in the spring. In our own lives, we can learn a lot from nature's example. Instead of constantly fighting against the natural flow of things, we can choose to embrace the cycles of life and go with the flow. This means accepting that there will be times of growth and times of rest, times of joy and times of sorrow. Just as the sun cannot shine all the time, we cannot expect ourselves to be happy and successful every moment of every day.
