When you really know how to be yourself, you don't have to try to be the sort of person you think you ought to be. Trying to be someone else is a waste of the person you are. It's like seeing a fish trying to become a bird or vice versa. There's nothing wrong with being a fish or a bird. There's nothing wrong with being yourself. So why not be yourself? It's a good question. But, for some reason, a lot of people seem to have a hard time answering it.
The main reason why people have a hard time answering that question, I think, is that they have been conditioned to think that they need to be a certain way in order to be accepted by others. They think that they need to fit into a certain mold, or else they will be judged and rejected. This conditioning starts early in life, when children are taught to conform to societal norms and expectations. It continues as they grow older, as they are bombarded with messages from the media and society about how they should look, act, and think.
But the truth is, trying to be someone you're not is exhausting and ultimately unfulfilling. It's like wearing a mask all the time, pretending to be someone you're not, just to please others. ...
