Through repetition and effort, neural pathways are strengthened, allowing for faster and more efficient communication between brain cells. This process, known as myelination, involves the insulation of neural circuits with a fatty substance that speeds up the transmission of electrical impulses. When we engage in deliberate and intense practice, we are essentially laying down layers of myelin around the circuits that control our skills and abilities.
