This was the reality for me in my early years. I was born a healthy child, but at the age of nineteen months, I fell ill with a severe fever that left me without my sight or hearing. From that moment on, my world became a dark and silent place. I was unable to see the faces of my loved ones or hear the sounds of the world around me. I was trapped in my own mind, unable to communicate with others or make sense of the world. I felt isolated and alone, as if I were living in a separate reality from everyone else. Despite my struggles, I was determined to overcome my disabilities and find a way to connect with the world. I was fortunate to have a dedicated teacher, Anne Sullivan, who helped me learn how to communicate through touch and sign language.
