Woman's liberation is hindered by male dominance from "summary" of The Second Sex by Simone de Beauvoir

The idea that women are oppressed by men is not a new one. Throughout history, women have been relegated to a subordinate position in society, with men holding power and control over them. This male dominance has had a stifling effect on women's ability to achieve true liberation. Men have long been seen as the dominant sex, with women being viewed as inferior and subservient. This power dynamic has led to women being oppressed and held back from reaching their full potential. Women have been denied access to education, career opportunities, and equal rights, all due to the influence of male dominance. Male dominance is not just a physical or legal reality; it is deeply ingrained in our cultural beliefs and social structures. Women have been socialized to accept their inferior status, to defer to men, and to prioritize the needs and desires of men over their own. This internalized oppression has further hindered women's ability to break free from male dominance and achieve true liberation. In order for women to truly be liberated, they must challenge and dismantle the systems of male dominance that have kept them oppressed for so long. Women must assert their own agency, voice their own needs and desires, and demand equal rights and opportunities. Only by breaking free from the constraints of male dominance can women achieve true liberation and equality.
