Inequality persists from "summary" of The Road To Wigan Pier by George Orwell

The fact remains that despite all efforts to address it, the issue of inequality continues to prevail in our society. The disparities in wealth, opportunities, and living conditions are stark and undeniable. This persistent inequality is not simply a matter of chance or individual effort; rather, it is deeply rooted in the structures of our society. One cannot help but see the glaring disparities in wealth and living standards when one looks around. The wealthy live in luxury, surrounded by comfort and abundance, while the poor struggle to make ends meet, living in overcrowded and dilapidated conditions. This stark contrast in living conditions is a clear manifestation of the persistent inequality that exists in our society. Moreover, the opportunities available to different segments of society are not equal. Those born into privilege have access to better education, healthcare, and job prospects, while those born into poverty are often trapped in a cycle of deprivation and limited opportunities. This unequal distribution of opportunities perpetuates the cycle of inequality, making it difficult for the disadvantaged to break free from their circumstances. Furthermore, the structures of our society are such that they perpetuate inequality rather than mitigate it. The distribution of wealth and resources is heavily skewed in favor of the wealthy, while the poor are left to fend for themselves. This unequal distribution of resources further entrenches the disparities in living standards and opportunities, making it difficult for the disadvantaged to improve their circumstances.
