Personal sacrifices were worth it from "summary" of The Race of My Life by Milkha Singh

The journey of my life has not been easy. It demanded hard work, determination, and countless sacrifices. There were moments when I had to choose between personal desires and my ultimate goal. It was not an easy decision to make, but I knew that in order to achieve my dreams, sacrifices had to be made. I had to give up the comfort of a regular life, the luxury of leisure, and the security of a stable job. Instead, I devoted my days to rigorous training, pushing myself beyond my limits, both physically and mentally. There were days when I felt exhausted, drained of all energy and motivation. But I kept going, reminding myself of the bigger picture, the ultimate prize waiting at the finish line. There were times when I missed family gatherings, social events, and important milestones in the lives of my loved ones. It pained me to be away from them, to not be able to share their joy and sorrows. But I knew that in order to make them proud, I had to make sacrifices in the present, for a better future. The sacrifices I made were not just physical or material, but emotional as well. I had to set aside personal relationships, romantic entanglements, and friendships that demanded too much of my time and attention. It was a lonely path to walk, but I knew that in the end, it would all be worth it. And indeed, it was worth it. When I crossed that finish line, when I felt the exhilaration of victory coursing through my veins, I knew that all the sacrifices I had made were not in vain. The pain, the struggles, the loneliness - they were all worth it, for they had led me to the greatest moment of my life.
