Set goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timebound from "summary" of The Productivity Project by Chris Bailey

When we set goals, we often have grand ambitions in mind. We dream of achieving great things, of reaching new heights of success. But without a clear plan in place, our goals can quickly become overwhelming, leading us to procrastinate and lose motivation. That's why it's important to set goals that are specific. By clearly defining what we want to achieve, we can break down our goals into manageable tasks, making them much more attainable. Measurable goals allow us to track our progress and stay accountable. When we can see how far we've come, it motivates us to keep pushing forward. Achievable goals ensure that we don't set ourselves up for failure. By setting realistic targets, we can build momentum and confidence, moving closer to our ultimate objective. Relevant goals keep us focused on what truly matters. It's easy to get sidetracked by distractions, but by aligning our goals with our values and priorities, we can stay on course. Timebound goals create a sense of urgency, prompting us to take action. When we have a deadline in place, we're more likely to prioritize our tasks and work efficiently. By incorporating these five principles into our goal-setting process, we can increase our chances of success. It's not enough to simply have a vision of what we want to achieve; we must also have a roadmap to get there. So let's start by setting goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timebound.
