It is a shield that we put up to protect ourselves from vulnerability. We strive to be flawless in every aspect of our lives, believing that if we can just do everything right, we will be immune to criticism and rejection. However, the truth is that perfectionism is a mirage. It is an unattainable goal that only serves to keep us isolated and disconnected from others. When we are constantly striving for perfection, we are never truly able to be ourselves.
