A new school year begins from "summary" of The Pistachio Prescription by Paula Danziger

As September arrived, it brought with it the promise of a fresh start. The end of summer meant it was time for new beginnings, new challenges, and new opportunities. For Marcy, it meant the start of another school year at Franklin Middle School. She couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves as she thought about what the year ahead might hold. The first day of school was always a whirlwind of activity. The halls were filled with the chatter of students catching up after a summer apart, the sound of lockers slamming shut, and the shuffling of feet as everyone made their way to their first classes. Marcy was grateful for the familiar faces of her friends as they navigated the crowded hallways together. In English class, Mrs. Lipton greeted her students with a warm smile and a stack of new textbooks. The familiar smell of chalk dust and pencil shavings filled the air as they settled into their seats. Marcy couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation as she cracked open her new book and turned to the first page. As the day went on, Marcy found herself caught up in the rhythm of the school day. From math to science to history, each class brought its own set of challenges and triumphs. She was grateful for the support of her teachers and classmates as she worked to find her place in the new school year. As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the first day, Marcy couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. She had made it through the first day of school and was ready to face whatever the rest of the year might bring. With a smile on her face, she gathered her belongings and headed out into the crisp autumn air, eager to see what the future held.
