Plato emphasized the existence of an ideal world of Forms from "summary" of The Philosophy Book by DK
Plato believed that our world is merely a shadowy reflection of an ideal world of Forms. According to him, the physical world we perceive with our senses is imperfect and transient, while the world of Forms is perfect and eternal. The Forms are the true reality, and everything in the physical world is just a flawed imitation of these perfect Forms. Plato used the analogy of a cave to explain his theory. He described people living in a cave, chained in such a way that they could only see shadows cast on the wall in front of them. These shadows were all they knew of reality. However, if one of these people were to break free and leave the cave, they would be able to see the true world outside, bathed in sunlight.
