The group found themselves in the middle of it, their small boat bobbing up and down as if at the mercy of some unseen beast. Percy gripped the oar tighter, his eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of danger. Charybdis, the monstrous whirlpool, loomed in the distance, its gaping maw ready to swallow anything foolish enough to come too close.
