The group navigates through the treacherous Sea of Monsters from "summary" of The Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel by Rick Riordan,Robert Venditti

The sea was angry that day, my friends. Not that it was ever a friendly body of water to begin with. No, this was the Sea of Monsters, and it lived up to its name with every crashing wave and swirling eddy. The group found themselves in the middle of it, their small boat bobbing up and down as if at the mercy of some unseen beast. Percy gripped the oar tighter, his eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of danger. Charybdis, the monstrous whirlpool, loomed in the distance, its gaping maw ready to swallow anything foolish enough to come too close. On the other side, Scylla awaited, her many heads snapping at the air in anticipation of a tasty meal. It was a treacherous path to navigate, but they had no choice but to press on. The fate of Olympus depended on them reaching their destination. As they rowed on, the group could feel the tension in the air, a palpable sense of danger that seemed to grow with each passing moment. The sea creatures circled the boat, their eyes glinting with hunger. Percy's heart raced as he tried to steer them clear of the looming threats, his mind focused on the task at hand. Suddenly, a massive tentacle shot out of the water, wrapping itself around the boat. Grover yelped in fear, Annabeth grabbed her dagger, ready to defend them against whatever monstrosity lurked below. Percy gritted his teeth and summoned all his strength, pushing against the tentacle with all his might. With a final effort, he managed to break free, the boat lurching forward as they escaped the grasp of the sea beast. The group breathed a collective sigh of relief, their hearts still pounding in their chests. They knew that the Sea of Monsters held many more dangers, but they also knew that they had to keep going. With a renewed sense of determination, they rowed on, their eyes fixed on the horizon. The fate of Olympus was in their hands, and they would not rest until they had completed their mission.
