Percy encounters various mythological creatures along the way from "summary" of The Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Lightning Thief: The Graphic Novel by Rick Riordan,Robert Venditti

Throughout Percy's journey, he comes face to face with a variety of mythological creatures that test his courage and wit. From the menacing minotaur that he battles at the beginning of his quest to the cunning Medusa that he must outsmart, Percy's encounters with these creatures are both thrilling and dangerous. One of the first mythological creatures Percy encounters is the minotaur, a half-man, half-bull monster that guards the entrance to the Underworld. This fearsome creature proves to be a formidable opponent for Percy, who must rely on his quick thinking and fighting skills to defeat it. As Percy continues on his journey, he encounters other mythological creatures such as the Furies, three female monsters with wings and claws who serve as punishers for those who have broken their oaths. These creatures test Percy's sense of justice and morality, forcing him to make difficult decisions that will shape the course of his quest. Another memorable encounter Percy has is with Medusa, a Gorgon with snakes for hair whose gaze turns people to stone. Percy must use all of his cunning and resourcefulness to defeat this deadly foe, proving that he is a true hero in the face of danger.
  1. Percy's encounters with these mythological creatures serve to challenge him both physically and mentally, pushing him to the limits of his abilities. Each encounter brings him closer to his ultimate goal of finding and returning Zeus' stolen lightning bolt, but also forces him to confront his own fears and weaknesses along the way.
