The forests breathe. They burn, they flood, they give birth. They are never still. The trees sway in the wind, creaking and groaning, a chorus of ancient voices. Without them, we would suffocate, cut off from the very breath of life. But the trees do more than just provide oxygen. They are the pillars of the ecosystem, the scaffolding on which all other life depends. They shelter countless creatures, from tiny insects to massive bears. They provide food, shelter, and nesting sites. They create microclimates, moderating temperature and humidity, creating habitats for a diverse array of plants and animals.
