It's natural to want to shield our children from financial missteps, to steer them away from the kinds of mistakes that could take years to undo. But in doing so, we may inadvertently rob them of the chance to learn important lessons about money. Kids need to experience the consequences of their choices - good and bad - in order to develop a healthy relationship with money. By allowing them to make mistakes, we give them the opportunity to learn from those missteps and make better decisions in the future.
