Odysseus' cunning escape from the witch Circe from "summary" of The Odyssey by Homer

The hero Odysseus found himself in a precarious situation when he and his men were lured by the enchanting sorceress Circe to her palace. Once inside, Circe transformed the men into pigs with a wave of her wand, leaving Odysseus alone and desperate to save his crew. But Odysseus, known for his cunning and quick thinking, was not easily defeated. With the help of the god Hermes, who gave him a magical herb to protect him from Circe's spells, Odysseus devised a plan to outwit the witch and free his men. Approaching Circe's palace, Odysseus was met by the sorceress, who attempted to turn him into a pig as well. However, the hero remained unaffected thanks to the herb given to him by Hermes. Seeing that her magic had no power over Odysseus, Circe was both surprised and impressed by his resilience. Odysseus then confronted Circe and demanded that she restore his men to their human forms. The sorceress, realizing she had met her match in the clever hero, reluctantly agreed to undo her spell and release the men from their porcine state. With his men saved and Circe's power broken, Odysseus and his crew were able to continue their journey home. The hero's cunning escape from the clutches of the witch Circe not only showcased his resourcefulness and intelligence but also reinforced his reputation as a formidable and shrewd leader.
