Totalitarianism is a political system that seeks to impose absolute control over every aspect of human life. In a totalitarian regime, individual liberties are seen as a threat to the authority of the state, and are therefore systematically suppressed. The totalitarian ruler demands total allegiance from his subjects, who are expected to prioritize the interests of the state over their own personal freedoms. The totalitarian regime seeks to create a homogenous society in which all individuals think and act in accordance with the state's ideology. Any form of dissent or deviation from the official party line is met with severe punishment, ranging from imprisonment to execution. The goal is to create a population that is docile and compliant, incapable of challenging the authority of the ruling elite.
