Children are like sponges, soaking up everything they see and hear from those around them. They look to us for guidance and direction, and they learn how to navigate the complexities of life by observing our actions and attitudes. When we are consistent in our words and actions, we send a powerful message to our children about the values and principles we hold dear. If we preach honesty but then lie or cheat in our own lives, our children will quickly pick up on the hypocrisy.
