Instead, we can create our own meaning in a world that has none. This newfound freedom allows us to live with a sense of purpose and passion, unencumbered by the constraints of traditional values and norms. In accepting the absurdity of life, we come to see that our existence is a constant struggle. Like Sisyphus, who is condemned to roll a boulder up a hill for eternity, we must find meaning in the act of living itself. Our lives may be ultimately futile, but it is in the struggle itself that we find fulfillment. As Camus writes, "The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy."- The acceptance of absurdity leads to freedom. It allows us to live authentically, to create our own meaning, and to find fulfillment in the struggle of existence. It is only by confronting the absurdity of life that we can truly be free.
