Consumerism does not equal fulfillment from "summary" of The More of Less by Joshua Becker

Consumerism promises fulfillment through the accumulation of possessions. We are bombarded with messages that tell us we need the latest gadgets, fashion trends, and luxury items to be happy. The more we buy, the happier we will be – or so we are led to believe. But the reality is that consumerism does not lead to true fulfillment. In fact, it often does the opposite. When we buy into the idea that possessions will bring us happiness, we become trapped in a cycle of constantly seeking more. Our homes become cluttered with things we don't need, and our lives become cluttered with stress and discontent. We are always chasing the next purchase, believing that it will finally bring us the satisfaction we crave. But it never does. True fulfillment comes from within, not from external sources.
