When faced with stress, our automatic response is often to react in ways that may not be helpful. These reactions can range from avoidance and denial to overthinking and catastrophic thinking. However, it is possible to change these automatic responses through mindfulness practices. By cultivating awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, we can begin to notice the patterns of reactivity that arise in response to stress.
