Facing anxiety-provoking situations can be incredibly challenging. It's natural to want to avoid situations that cause us distress. However, avoidance can actually make our anxiety worse in the long run. When we consistently avoid situations that make us anxious, we reinforce the idea that those situations are truly dangerous. This only serves to increase our fear and anxiety over time. By actively choosing to face our fears, we can begin to challenge the beliefs that underlie our anxiety.
