Meditate to center yourself from "summary" of The Mindful Day by Laurie Cameron

When we meditate, we create a space for ourselves to simply be. In a world filled with constant activity and distractions, it is easy to lose touch with our inner selves. Meditation allows us to quiet the noise around us and within us, so that we can connect with our true essence. By focusing on our breath or a mantra, we can let go of racing thoughts and find a sense of calm and clarity. As we meditate, we may notice our minds wandering to the past or the future. This is natural, as our brains are wired to constantly be thinking and planning. However, with practice, we can learn to gently guide our attention back to the present moment. This ability to stay present is a valuable skill that we can apply to our daily lives, helping us to be more focused, attentive, and aware. Meditation also helps us to cultivate a sense of inner peace and balance. When we take the time to sit quietly with ourselves, we are able to tap into a wellspring of tranquility that lies within us. This inner peace can be a source of strength and resilience, helping us to navigate life's challenges with grace and equanimity.
  1. Meditation is a powerful tool for centering ourselves in the midst of a chaotic world. By establishing a regular meditation practice, we can create a foundation of calm and stability that supports us in all aspects of our lives. So, the next time you feel overwhelmed or scattered, take a few moments to meditate and reconnect with your inner self.
