Comparing oneself to others only leads to unhappiness from "summary" of The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

In the Midnight Library, we are reminded of the futility of comparing our lives to those of others. It is a common trap that many of us fall into, believing that someone else's life is better, happier, or more fulfilling than our own. But the truth is, we can never truly know what goes on behind closed doors. We only see the carefully curated facade that people choose to show the world. When we compare ourselves to others, we are essentially comparing our insides to someone else's outsides. We are judging our messy, complicated, and imperfect selves against someone else's highlight reel. This is a recipe for unhappiness, as we will always come up short in this comparison.
