Love is not a sacrifice. Love is not about giving up your own happiness for someone else. It is not about losing yourself in order to please another. Love should never be a burden, a duty, or a responsibility that drains the joy out of your life. True love is freeing and uplifting, it brings you closer to your own happiness, not farther away. When we sacrifice our happiness for someone else, we are not truly loving them, nor are we truly loving ourselves.
