We didn't talk for two weeks. When we finally did, we both apologized. I said I was sorry for being distant. You said you were sorry for being busy. We laughed, and it felt like we were back in the beginning. It was a rekindling of sorts.
It's funny how distance can make you appreciate someone more. When we were apart, I realized how much I missed your voice, your laughter, your presence. I found myself thinking about you more often, wondering what you were doing, hoping you were thinking of me too.
When we finally saw each other again, it was like a spark had been reignited. We fell back into our old routine, but with a newfound sense of appreciation for each other. We made more of an effort to communicate, to spend time together, to show each other how much we meant to each other.
