Longing for connection from "summary" of The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan

On certain nights, I find myself consumed by a deep yearning that I struggle to articulate. It's a longing that goes beyond mere physical desire or emotional attachment. It's a yearning for something more profound, something that transcends the boundaries of our individual selves. I think about all the missed connections, the moments of closeness that slipped through our fingers like grains of sand. I wonder about all the words left unsaid, the feelings left unexpressed. In those moments, I feel a sense of incompleteness, a hole in my heart that can only be filled by true connection. It's a longing that seeps into every corner of my being, coloring my thoughts and actions. It's a hunger that can't be satisfied by superficial interactions or fleeting moments of intimacy. It's a thirst that can't be quenched by mere physical touch or verbal reassurances. I search for connection in the way you look at me, in the way you hold my hand, in the way you listen to my words. I crave a connection that goes beyond the surface, a connection that delves deep into the core of our souls. I yearn for a connection that is pure and authentic, a connection that is based on mutual understanding and acceptance. But despite my yearning, I find myself lost in a world of distractions and illusions. I struggle to find true connection in a sea of superficial relationships and fleeting encounters. I long for a connection that is real and lasting, a connection that can withstand the test of time and distance. And so, I continue to search, to yearn, to long for that elusive connection that seems to always be just out of reach. But I hold onto hope, believing that one day, I will find that connection, that sense of belonging that my heart craves.
