In order to truly listen to others, it is crucial to set aside our own judgments and biases. When we approach a conversation with preconceived notions or a critical mindset, we are not truly hearing what the other person has to say. Our judgments can cloud our ability to understand the other person's perspective and can prevent us from forming a genuine connection.
Listening without judgment requires a conscious effort to suspend our own opinions and beliefs. It involves actively seeking to understand the other person's point of view, even if it differs from our own. This does not mean that we have to agree with everything the other person says, but rather that we are open to hearing their thoughts and feelings without immediately dismissing them.
