Imagine your mind is like a clear blue sky, with thoughts drifting by like clouds. Sometimes these clouds can become stormy, darkening the sky and obscuring the blue. When this happens, it can be easy to get caught up in the storm, losing sight of the clear sky altogether. But no matter how stormy it gets, the blue sky is always there, waiting patiently behind the clouds. In meditation, we practice letting go of these stormy thoughts and returning our focus to the present moment. One way to do this is by focusing on our breath. The breath is always with us, a constant anchor in the ever-changing sea of thoughts and emotions. By bringing our attention to the breath, we can cultivate a sense of calm and clarity, allowing the storm clouds to dissipate and revealing the clear blue sky of our mind once again.
