Nature teaches Brian valuable lessons from "summary" of THE HATCHET by Hannah Grissman

In the wild, Brian discovered that everything had a purpose, everything was connected in some way. The birds, the trees, the water - they all had their own roles to play in the grand scheme of things. The loon taught him about patience and perseverance as it dove deep into the water in search of food. The bear showed him the importance of being aware of his surroundings, of being in tune with nature. Nature also taught Brian about the harsh realities of life.
