In his moment of greatest need, Wang Lung was humbled. He was forced to confront the reality of his own arrogance and pride, coming face to face with the consequences of his actions. He realized that his downfall was a direct result of his own hubris, his belief that he was above others and immune to the trials of life.
Through his suffering, Wang Lung learned a valuable lesson. He understood that pride is a dangerous thing, a false sense of superiority that can lead to one's downfall.
