The idea of a pure democracy, where the majority rules without constraints, may seem appealing on the surface. However, upon closer examination, one can discern the inherent dangers that such a system poses. In a pure democracy, the will of the majority is unchecked and can easily lead to the suppression of minority rights. This unchecked power can result in the tyranny of the majority, where the rights and liberties of individuals are disregarded in favor of the desires of the majority. Furthermore, in a pure democracy, the decisions made by the majority may not always be in the best interest of the entire society. The passions and emotions of the majority can cloud their judgment, leading to hasty and ill-advised decisions that can have detrimental consequences for the nation as a whole.
