It is time for real tax reform from "summary" of The Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz,John Linder

The current tax system in the United States is a complex and burdensome mess that is in desperate need of reform. The tax code is over 70,000 pages long and filled with loopholes, deductions, and special interest provisions that benefit the wealthy and well-connected at the expense of the average American taxpayer. It is time to scrap this broken system and replace it with something that is fair, simple, and transparent. The Fair Tax is a revolutionary proposal that would completely overhaul the way we raise revenue for the federal government. Instead of taxing income, the Fair Tax would tax consumption. This means that instead of paying taxes on what you earn, you would only pay taxes on what you spend. This would eliminate the need for complicated tax returns and endless forms, making the process of paying taxes much simpler and less time-consuming for the average taxpayer. One of the key benefits of the Fair Tax is that it would be revenue-neutral, meaning that it would raise the same amount of money for the government as the current tax system. However, it would do so in a way that is much fairer and more efficient. By taxing consumption instead of income, the Fair Tax would eliminate the burden of double taxation that currently exists in the tax code. This would help to level the playing field for all taxpayers, regardless of their income level or source of earnings. Under the Fair Tax, everyone would be treated equally in the eyes of the tax law. There would be no more special interest loopholes or deductions that benefit the wealthy and well-connected. Instead, every American would pay their fair share based on what they choose to spend, rather than what they earn. This would create a more just and equitable tax system that rewards hard work and entrepreneurship, rather than gaming the system and exploiting loopholes.
  1. It is clear that the current tax system is in desperate need of reform. The Fair Tax offers a simple, fair, and transparent solution to the problems that plague our current tax code. By taxing consumption instead of income, the Fair Tax would create a more equitable and efficient system that benefits all Americans, not just the wealthy and well-connected. It is time for real tax reform, and the Fair Tax is the answer.
