Attaining ultimate liberation from "summary" of The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita by Paramhansa Yogananda

Attaining ultimate liberation is the goal of every seeker on the spiritual path. It is the state of complete freedom from all forms of suffering and bondage, where the soul is reunited with the divine. This liberation is not just a temporary escape from the trials of life, but a permanent state of bliss and peace that transcends all earthly limitations. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna teaches Arjuna that ultimate liberation can be attained through selfless action and devotion to God. By performing one's duties without attachment to the results, and surrendering the ego to the divine will, one can free themselves from the cycle of birth and death. This state of liberation is described as a state of pure consciousness, where the soul is no longer bound by the illusions of the material world. It is a state of oneness with the divine, where all distinctions and dualities are dissolved. To attain ultimate liberation, one must cultivate qualities such as love, compassion, and selflessness. By purifying the mind and heart, and aligning one's will with the divine will, one can overcome the ego and realize their true nature as a spiritual being.
  1. Attaining ultimate liberation is a gradual process of inner transformation, where the soul evolves towards higher levels of consciousness. It is a journey of self-discovery and self-realization, where one comes to understand their true identity as a divine being.
