Final journey to Kushinagar from "summary" of The Epic of the Buddha by Chittadhar Hrdaya

As the time of his departure drew near, the Blessed One made his way slowly to the city of Kushinagar. The people of the city, upon hearing of his arrival, gathered around him in great numbers, eager to pay their respects to the Enlightened One. The Buddha, in his infinite compassion, spoke to them one final time, imparting his wisdom and guidance for their spiritual journey. As he lay down beneath the twin sal trees, surrounded by his disciples and followers, the Buddha entered into a deep meditation. It was during this profound state of tranquility that he attained the ultimate goal of nirvana, freeing himself from the cycle of birth and death. The earth trembled, the heavens shone brightly, and a great peace descended upon the land. The disciples, overwhelmed with grief at the passing of their beloved teacher, gathered around his body, paying their last respects with tears in their eyes. The king of Kushinagar, moved by the profound impact the Buddha had on his people, ordered a grand funeral procession and the construction of a grand stupa in his honor. The final journey of the Buddha to Kushinagar marked the end of an era, but his teachings continued to resonate throughout the land, inspiring countless generations to seek enlightenment and liberation from suffering. The legacy of the Enlightened One lived on, a beacon of hope and wisdom for all who sought the path to spiritual awakening.
