Processed foods and sugary drinks are significant culprits in the development of insulin resistance. These types of foods are high in refined carbohydrates, unhealthy fats, and added sugars, which wreak havoc on our insulin levels. When we consume these foods, our blood sugar spikes, causing the pancreas to release insulin to help regulate it.
