Our emotions are constantly on display through our body language, whether we are aware of it or not. The way we move, gesture, and position ourselves can convey a wealth of information about how we are feeling at any given moment. This nonverbal communication is often more powerful and accurate than the words we speak. When we experience emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, fear, or disgust, our bodies react in specific ways that can be easily recognized by others. For example, when we are happy, we tend to stand up straight, with our heads held high and our shoulders back. We may smile, make eye contact, and use open gestures.
