Negative self-talk can be a sneaky little voice inside our heads that tells us we're not good enough, smart enough, or capable enough. This voice can chip away at our confidence and hold us back from reaching our full potential. But the good news is that we have the power to challenge and change this negative self-talk. The first step is to become aware of when it's happening. Pay attention to the thoughts that pop into your mind and ask yourself if they are helping or hurting you. Once you recognize negative self-talk, it's time to challenge it. Start by questioning the validity of the negative thoughts. Are they based on facts or just your own insecurities? Would you say these things to a friend? If not, why do you say them to yourself? Try to reframe the negative thoughts into more positive and realistic ones.
