We must let go of our egos to attain true enlightenment from "summary" of The Buddha Said... by Osho

The ego is a false sense of self that we carry around with us, believing it to be our true identity. It is a construct of the mind, created through years of conditioning and societal influences. The ego is always seeking validation and approval from others, constantly comparing itself to others and feeling either superior or inferior. To attain true enlightenment, we must let go of this ego. We must transcend the limitations of our minds and connect with the pure essence of our being. The ego is like a veil that clouds our perception, preventing us from seeing the truth that lies beyond. It is only when we release our attachment to the ego that we can experience true freedom and liberation. Letting go of the ego is not an easy task. It requires us to confront our deepest fears and insecurities, to face the parts of ourselves that we have been trying to suppress. It means letting go of the need for external validation and finding validation within ourselves. It means embracing our true selves, flaws and all, without judgment or criticism. Enlightenment is not something that can be achieved through intellectual understanding alone. It is a state of being that transcends the mind and connects us with the universal consciousness. It is a state of pure awareness, where we are free from the shackles of the ego and can see the world with clarity and compassion. By letting go of our egos, we can experience a profound sense of peace and contentment. We can let go of the need to control and manipulate our lives, and instead surrender to the flow of existence. We can embrace the present moment fully, without being weighed down by regrets of the past or anxieties about the future.
  1. But a journey to embark on. It is a continuous process of self-discovery and growth, a path that requires us to let go of our egos and connect with our true essence. It is only through releasing the ego that we can experience the boundless joy and love that is our birthright as human beings.
