The trek is arduous from "summary" of The Bolivian Diary by Che Guevara

The path ahead is unforgiving, a relentless test of our endurance. Each step is a struggle against the steep terrain and the weight of our supplies. The altitude adds another layer of difficulty, leaving us breathless and weary. The thin air makes even the simplest tasks feel like a Herculean effort. As we push forward, the sun beats down on us with unrelenting force, sapping our energy and resolve. The heat is oppressive, baking the earth beneath our feet. Sweat pours from our bodies, soaking our clothes and stinging our eyes. The only relief comes from the occasional cool breeze that offers a brief respite from the scorching heat. The rocky terrain presents its own challenges, with loose stones and jagged edges threatening to trip us up at every turn. Each footfall must be carefully calculated to avoid injury. The path twists and turns unpredictably, forcing us to constantly adjust our course and navigate the obstacles in our way. Despite the physical toll it takes on us, the mental strain is even more exhausting. The days blur together as we trudge onward, our minds consumed by thoughts of the journey ahead. Doubt and fear creep in, whispering that we may never reach our destination. But we push these thoughts aside, focusing instead on the task at hand. Through sheer determination and grit, we continue on our arduous trek, knowing that every step brings us closer to our goal. The hardships we face only serve to strengthen our resolve, forging a bond between us that cannot be broken. And so we press on, united in our shared struggle, determined to conquer whatever challenges lie ahead.
