Choosing the path of righteousness from "summary" of The Bhagavad Gita by Swami Sivananda

The path of righteousness is the path of duty, selflessness and devotion. It is the path of selfless action, performed without attachment to the fruits of the actions. It is the path of surrendering oneself to the Divine Will, and performing one's duties without any selfish motives. Choosing the path of righteousness means following one's dharma, or duty, with sincerity and dedication. It means acting in accordance with one's true nature and fulfilling one's responsibilities towards oneself and others. It means living a life of integrity, honesty and compassion, and treating all beings with respect and kindness. The Bhagavad Gita teaches that choosing the path of righteousness leads to inner peace, spiritual growth and liberation from the cycle of birth and death. It is the path that leads to self-realization, union with the Divine and ultimate happiness. By following the path of righteousness, one can overcome the ego, desires and attachments that bind the soul to the material world. Choosing the path of righteousness requires courage, determination and discipline. It means overcoming the temptations of the senses, the distractions of the mind and the doubts of the intellect. It means facing challenges, adversities and obstacles with faith, patience and perseverance. It means trusting in the Divine Grace and surrendering to the Divine Will. The Bhagavad Gita emphasizes the importance of choosing the path of righteousness in every aspect of life – in thoughts, words and deeds. It teaches that righteousness is the foundation of a meaningful and fulfilling life, and that it is the key to inner peace and lasting happiness. By choosing the path of righteousness, one can live a life of purpose, meaning and significance, and make a positive contribution to the world.
