Arjuna's dilemma in the battlefield from "summary" of The Bhagavad Gita by
Arjuna, standing on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, faced a deep moral dilemma. As he looked out at the opposing forces, he saw friends, family, and revered teachers arrayed against him. Overwhelmed by the prospect of fighting and killing those closest to him, he was filled with doubt and despair. He hesitated, unsure of what course of action to take. Arjuna's inner turmoil stemmed from conflicting duties and responsibilities. On one hand, as a warrior, he was duty-bound to fight for his kingdom and uphold justice. On the other hand, he was torn by his love and loyalty towards his kith and kin. This clash of values left him paralyzed, unable to decide which path to follow. In his distress, Arjuna turned to Lord Krishna for guidance. Krishna, his charioteer and friend, responded by delivering the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, imparting wisdom and clarity to Arjuna's troubled mind. Through a series of dialogues, Krishna expounded on the nature of duty, righteousness, and the eternal soul, providing Arjuna with the spiritual insight he needed to overcome his dilemma. Krishna urged Arjuna to rise above his personal attachments and desires, to perform his duty selflessly and without attachment to the fruits of his actions. He reminded Arjuna of the impermanence of the physical body and the eternal nature of the soul, emphasizing the importance of acting in accordance with one's dharma, or righteous duty. By understanding and embracing his role as a warrior, Arjuna came to see that it was his duty to fight for justice and uphold the principles of righteousness. With Krishna's guidance, he found the courage and determination to fulfill his responsibilities on the battlefield, setting aside his doubts and fears.- Arjuna's dilemma was resolved through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, which provided him with the spiritual knowledge and inner strength to face his challenges with clarity and conviction. In doing so, he not only fulfilled his duty as a warrior but also attained a deeper understanding of himself and the universe around him.
